OpenStoop is a public NYC building intelligence platform. It helps renters, buyers, researchers, journalists, advocates, and enterprise users understand building conditions using public records.

OpenStoop analyzes NYC public data including HPD violations and complaints, 311 service requests, DOB records, ECB/OATH violations, property records, litigation, tax liens, and related building-safety signals.

## Important interpretation notes

Scores are decision-support signals based on public records. They are not legal findings, safety certifications, or measured habitability inspections.

A low grade means public records show elevated risk compared with similar buildings. It does not prove that an owner broke the law or that a specific unit is unsafe.
