Use of Service

OpenStoop provides building intelligence data for informational purposes only. Our scores, grades, and analyses are proprietary assessments based on public data and should not be the sole basis for any real estate, legal, or financial decisions.

Not a Consumer Report

OpenStoop reports are informational tools derived from publicly available government records. They do not constitute “consumer reports” as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and are not intended to be used as a factor in determining eligibility for housing, credit, employment, insurance, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. Building grades reflect our independent analysis of public data and represent editorial opinions, not statements of fact about a property's fitness for any particular use.

Paid Reports & Refund Policy

Individual building reports are one-time digital purchases. Due to the immediate delivery of digital content, all sales are final. If you believe a report contains a material data error, contact us at data@openstoop.com within 30 days of purchase and we will investigate and issue a correction or refund at our discretion. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. OpenStoop does not store credit card numbers or payment credentials.

Data Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, OpenStoop relies on public data sources that may contain errors, delays, or omissions. We make no warranty regarding the completeness or accuracy of any information displayed. Always verify critical information through official NYC agency sources.

API Terms

Access to the OpenStoop API is subject to rate limits and fair use policies. Bulk scraping, redistribution of data, or use that places unreasonable load on our systems is prohibited.

Intellectual Property

Our scoring methodology, user interface, and proprietary analyses are protected by copyright. The underlying public data remains in the public domain.

Limitation of Liability

OpenStoop is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided through our platform.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use OpenStoop or purchase building reports.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OpenStoop, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your reliance on any data or scores provided, or your violation of these terms.

Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of OpenStoop shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York. You waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in such courts.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of OpenStoop after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
